Learning Environments Assistant - Banbury with occasional travel across all sites.

We are looking for a Learning Environments Assistant to provide excellent front-line support for Library and Learning Centre users. Responsible for the day to day operational management of library environments , providing quality user focused services. Contributing to: the development of online learning resources; the delivery of library induction; academic skills, information and digital literacy; collection management; library initiatives and project work; and a range of customer focused roles. Within the context of evolving pedagogical practice, you will be enthusiastic about the opportunity to apply learning technologies to the development of new and novel approaches to the provision of academic skills support in an increasingly digital student environment. In addition, you will contribute to local quality assurance processes and the development of group-wide strategic projects. A flexible and team-based approach is essential.
Please note: This position will be assigned to a base location. Occasional travel to other sites will be required.
Qualifications and Experience:
• Experience in providing library services in an education environment
• Experience of working with different age ranges including young people (16 – 19 years old)
• Experience in library systems including an understanding of self-service equipment
• Good standard of education evidenced by A Levels or equivalent
• Proven experience in a customer service environment
• Experience in supporting research activities and assisting independent learners
• Experience of conducting review meetings and interpreting requirements from ‘customers’
• Able to communicate clearly both orally and in writing
• Able to work as part of a team and to develop and sustain good working relationships with colleagues and students
•Able to work with limited supervision on a variety of tasks
•Experience of preparing business cases and presenting proposals to audiences of varying levels of seniority
Technical Knowledge / Skills:
• Ability to perform effectively and sensitively in a team.
• Ability to make decisions which are informed by dialogue and debate.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and operate at all levels
• Ability to lead and deliver key projects successfully
• Strong planning skills
• Knowledge of library systems.
• Have an up to date understanding of key developments in libraries in education environments
• Ability to write concise documentation – business and project-related
• Demonstrated skill in the planning and implementation of strategic operational goals
• Active participation in networks relating to library services
