This post has been identified as being suitable for Nottinghamshire County Council's Apprenticeship Scheme.

In order to apply for this post you must be willing to undertake training against an appropriate Apprenticeship Standard that will be delivered by an approved training provider.

Apprenticeships are open to all ages and abilities and are designed to encourage people who may not have the necessary experience or qualifications to access employment.

The Big House is an eight bed children's home providing short breaks for children and young people with significant learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviours.

You must be committed to meeting the needs of the children and young people you care for as well as have the ability and commitment to work in what can be a very challenging environment.

We are looking for two residential care workers to join our team at The Big House. You must have 6 months experience working with children, young people or adults either in a voluntary, work or other relevant setting.

You will be given a full induction and you will be expected to undertake training relevant to the post. If you do not have an appropriate level 3 qualification, you will be required to register and complete the programme.

This post involves shift, weekend and bank holiday working.

Closing Date: 18 August 2017

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview.  A job share scheme is available for all full time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
