Junior IT Technician

An exciting opportunity to work for a fast growing company in a niche industry that makes a real difference to the quality of life for people with visual impairments.

This company designs and manufactures products that help visually impaired, blind and dyslexic people to read. This is achieved using cutting edge PC, mobile and camera hardware together with OCR and TTS technologies.

Due to increased demand for their latest products, they are looking for an additional employee whose primary role will be the manufacture of their products.

As many of their products employ standard PC based components, you must be experienced in PC assembly, repair, fault finding / troubleshooting and OS installation, (ideally from Windows XP to Windows 10 with knowledge of embedded versions being an advantage).

Once knowledge of their products has been learned, duties may also include the testing of their software and could extend to providing product support to distributors and end users via telephone, email and remote access. For these additional tasks, excellent spoken and written English would be required.

Their standalone products are transitioning to use Linux / Android over the next six months so experience with these operating systems is also a distinct advantage.

A good grounding in Excel, Word, Outlook / Thunderbird is also required. A driving licence would also be an advantage.
