Our client, based near Hinckley is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their growing organisation. Your role will involve;
*Ensure accurate and timely payment of all employees to achieve a quality service to the business.
*Adhere strictly to government statutory payment requirements i.e. SSP; SMP; SPP and SAP.
*Coach one part time Payroll Administrator, ensure weekly timesheets are uploaded to the payroll system accurately.
*Oversee upload files on a weekly basis and resolve any rejected data from upload files.
*Assess new legislation and impact on payroll, incorporate and roll out new procedures.
*Ensure all payroll items are balanced, investigate any anomalies and correct prior to month end.
*Balance the Pension scheme contributions and upload files to provider's website. Manage changes to employee's membership and contributions.
*On request provide payroll information to statutory and government bodies in a timely manner i.e. National Statistics Office and HMRC.
*Balance PAYE and National Insurance contributions for each pay group and ensure payment is made according to HMRC deadlines.
*Ensure all monthly disbursements are paid over to third parties correctly, in accordance with third party regulations and within time deadlines as set by each provider.
*Provide payroll information to other departments.
*Maintain and provide information to HMRC on company car changes.
*Provide benefit in kind data to payroll provider and distribute P11d's to HMRC deadlines.
*Update Channel Islands payroll via manual spread-sheet data and ensure payments are made to CI employees in a timely manner.
*Ensure all more complex payroll queries are dealt with to employee satisfaction.
Other duties:
*Develop robust payroll process improvements and ensure procedures are kept up to date on the payroll shared drive.
*Complete Statistical returns to meet ONS deadlines
*Ensure BACS net payment file is balanced prior to payment.
*Undertake any other tasks and responsibilities appropriate to the level of this post and as instructed by the Head of Human Resources.
*Adhere to the Payroll Provider and company Service Level Agreement at all times.
Skills and Behaviours:
*Ability to work on own and as part of a small team.
*Supervise one part time Payroll Administrator
*Attention to detail, ability to identify issues, investigate and escalate accordingly.
*Working with the Payroll provider to meet their deadlines identifying any issues that may result in deadlines not being met.
*Contribute to payroll provider monthly service meetings.to tight deadlines and be able to communicate with other colleagues within the business.
