Job Overview
As News Manager, you are responsible for the news aspect of one or more client accounts and works together with the Senior News Manager in the day-to-day execution of one or more news client accounts. The News Manager is responsible for sending news reports to domestic or international clients, researching international media coverage, and selecting and editing relevant content for daily and/or weekly delivery. They will also support the Senior News Manager in retention and growth of existing client news revenue. With development, the News Manager will take over the responsibility for a news account, including client communication and managing a small team to ensure an accurate and timely delivery.
Roles and responsibilities
- Working on news client accounts and having direct communication with the client
- Managing a small team effectively to ensure accurate and timely delivery
- Supporting Senior News Manager in retention and growth of existing client revenue
- Finalising daily and weekly news reports to send out to international clients
- Writing, editing and proofreading content for daily and weekly news reports
- Summarising international media coverage into a digestible format
- Researching international print and online media
- Selecting relevant content for client specific news reports
Experience and qualifications
Essentials:
- At least two years’ experience in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or PR
- At least one years’ experience in working on client accounts
- An academic degree (Bachelors, preferably a Masters) in Marketing, Communications, Media, Journalism, Business Administration, Social Sciences or similar
- Proven editorial and research skills – as part of a university project or examples of workplace experience
- Excellent written and spoken English Language skills with in-depth understanding of grammar
- Excellent communication skills with experience in client communication
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office

Salary range: £24,000 to £26,000
