The purpose of this role is to own the manufacturing system from cradle to grave and to lead, manage and coordinate the supporting cell manufacturing engineers to achieve a safe, sustainable and lean interlinked production system in a continuous improvement environment to deliver our products on time to standard and within budget.

Qualifications:
??Engineering degree or equivalent.

Experience:
??Experience of working within an assembly environment.
??Experience of working in different sized organisations.
??Relevant experience in implementing the principles of lean manufacturing.
??Project management experience including implementation of complex and technically challenging projects.
??Experience of utilising problem solving and root cause analysis tools in a manufacturing environment.
??Experience in optimising production processes as well as providing production support and training.
??Design for manufacture knowledge.
??Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
??Previous experience in key manufacturing principles such as TPM, 8D, 6S problem solving, product responsibility, continuous improvement process as well as new product introduction.

Goals:
??To design, prove, implement and maintain overall manufacturing system to deliver existing, customised and new products safely, on time to standard and within budget according the required yield and efficiency level.
??To implement, own and continuously improve the overall LEAN processes for the overall manufacturing system according the guidelines of the Vacuum Technique Production System.
??Documented and traceable processes for the complete manufacturing system in compliance to our current regulations in terms of ISO 9001, 14001 and OHSAS18001.
??Training process, procedures, documentation and traceability to create and sustain the workforce competences.
??Ownership and accountability to resolve or support any non-conformity, internal or external, impacting the overall manufacturing system.
??Critical part traceability within our products.
??Balanced production system over the different manufacturing cells with an active bottleneck management.

Tasks:
??To design, prove, implement and maintain overall production system layout
??Accountable for the definition, setup and optimisation of the processes for the overall production system.
??Establish, monitor, correct and improve the process performances for the overall manufacturing system in terms of capability and capacity.
??Analyse downtime and unbalances within manufacturing system, identify trends and develop solutions.
??Manage the effective implementation of appropriate Lean tools and methodologies in accordance with the guidelines of the Vacuum Technique Production System (VTPS) for the overall production system.
??Is owner and responsible for the compliance of the production processes to current regulations in terms of Health, Safety and Environment.
??Develops, implements and continuously improves policies, standards and procedures.
??Implement and maintain PFMEA for overall manufacturing system.
??Provide manufacturing engineering support to in and outbound logistics (logistic parameters, packaging).
??Ownership of EC implementation process within manufacturing.
??Support and guide customer visits.
??Support first of kind and manufacturing process inspections for customers.
??Implement and maintain suitable metrics to demonstrate the effectiveness of the Manufacturing System.
??Review need for potential outsourcings in view of capability, capacity and balancing needs between the different cells.
??Leads and directs the coordination of the Manufacturing Engineers between the different manufacturing cells.
??Encourage innovation to reduce costs and workflows and guarantees the feasibility and reproducibility of the overall manufacturing process.
??Responsible for the internal traceability of all products that go through PC Clevedon.
??Manages recruitment, performance, development and training processes to ensure team competencies and capabilities reach the business goals and expectations.
??Mentors and oversees technical and professional development of the Cell Manufacturing Engineers.
??Value stream mapping and specification and implementation of all logistical flows for the manufacturing system.
??Support new product introduction within the manufacturing system.
??Provide support for the setup of the external and internal logistical flows linked to the requirement of the manufacturing system.
??Support the analysis of root cause for safety incidents.
??Coordinates root cause analysis and solution implementation for process non conformities.
??Coordinates CI activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and waste prevention and removal.
??Review of technical specifications for manufacturing equipment, budget proposal, investment calculation, supplier selection in coordination with purchasing, technical review with the supplier and coordinate final implementation within the manufacturing system.
??Support internal and external quality management and EHS audits.
??Organise and lead the Manufacturing system meetings for coordination between the different manufacturing cells.
??Active member of the manufacturing's system SIM3 and the overall SIM4 setup.
??6S Ownership of the overall manufacturing layout
