Working in our Supply Chain Centres puts our teams at the heart of the Domino's Pizza operation. We manufacture all of the fresh dough for the UK and Ireland stores and supply them with the ingredients and associated equipment and materials to enable our franchisees to concentrate on making great pizza, at the highest standard, for our customers. Supply Chain is where people from customer service, production, warehouse, maintenance, delivery and service come together to give our stores everything they need to operate flawlessly.
The purpose of the role is to manage the Milton Keynes Transport Operation for Domino's Pizza group (DPG). Through the Transport Team you will maximize the performance to meet the needs of the customer, achievement of KPI's and to establish premium best practice in line with DPG policies and procedures and meet the customer requirements.
Key accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Leading the way in terms of best practise regarding safety and ensuring your team understand the importance of being safe in the workplace at all times.
- Understanding the wider business objectives and in line with this, looking for ways in which to reduce cost, improve service etc.
- Actively promote and ensure compliance with transport policies, procedures and legislation
- Ability to identify, assess, balance and proactively manage risks arising from any conflicts between commercial pressures and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the legal responsibilities relating to the Operating License are adhered to and appropriate action is taken to ensure high standards are maintained.
- Lead, motivate, supervise and develop the transport team to enable their effective performance within their area of responsibility.
- Monitor the changing needs of the department ensuring anticipated growth levels can be met, make changes and produce business proposals for consideration as required.
- Responsible for managing costs and performance in line with forecast/budget, ensuring appropriate measures are in place to control budget variances whilst identifying areas of opportunity that will have a positive impact on the transport budget.
- Management of KPI's for transport operations, monitoring performance and report regularly whilst taking ownership for the production and review of action plans to rectify any issues identified.
- Contribute to the development and implementation the transport strategy in line with the overall company business plan.
- Monitor the ongoing levels of errors and delivery success rate, implementing corrective measures when required to ensure error levels/delivery success rates are maintained in line with agreed KPI's.
- Maintain regular communication through monthly shift briefs with all members of the Transport team, ensuring all team members are aware of what is required of them and to increase overall Company awareness.
- Continually enhance and develop the transport operation in all areas. Stay ahead of legislation changes which could affect the operation
