Acorn Accountancy and Finance is recruiting on behalf of a prestigious Cardiff client, who are seeking a suitably experienced individual to work within their Compliance and Risk department.

The purpose of the role is to support the Assurance Manager in providing second line of defence oversight and carrying out the full end-to-end risk-based risk assurance and compliance monitoring reviews across a range of areas delivering the Annual Assurance Plan.
Also to ensure that business units have appropriate measures in place for the management of risk and meet compliance, regulatory, and code of practice requirements relevant to their activities.
Reporting to the Assurance Manager, you will carry out governance and risk assurance monitoring and oversight activities across the business, including Information Systems.
This is a technical role, and requires the post-holder to analyse issues in a methodical and structured way. You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, be well organised and display good attention to detail.
The successful candidate will be educated to Degree level (2.1) and have the following:
- Experience in an internal audit or risk-related role, ideally already studying towards a relevant professional qualification (ideally CISA).
- Knowledge and understanding of different IT platforms.
- Familiarity with the Financial Services sector would be desirable.
