Kitchen Assistant

Heritage Care has a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Assistant to join the team at The Croft located in Amersham. Joining us on a part time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £7.80 per hour.

Heritage Care is a charitable organisation that provides a range of flexible individualised care and support services for people with learning difficulties, mental health support needs and older people.

An opportunity has arisen for a Kitchen Assistant to join our small but dedicated kitchen team.  In this role you will assist the cook in preparing and serving of all meals to our Service Users.  A need to ensure that all preparation areas are kept clean and that hygiene working practices are followed and maintained.  You will also assist the Cook in organising the storeroom to keep an eye on stock.

You will need to be a team player plus be confident and friendly – getting to know the service users.  Importantly you will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of the importance of health and hygiene in the kitchen.  Plus an ability to pick up instructions quickly and follow them and possess good verbal communication skills.

The Croft is a modern, purpose built registered care home for 60 people, located in Amersham. The home provides residential and dementia care for older people and enjoys an excellent reputation because of its high standards. The home is split into four small communities, each with its own staff team. Each community has a comfortable and spacious living room where people can meet or watch the large flat screen TV. Residents can join in with a range of organised activities including coffee mornings, quizzes, discussions and cinema days. All of this takes place within a happy ‘family’ atmosphere supported by the dedicated Activity Organiser.

Hours of work: 14 hours per week
