Care Assistant

Heritage Care has fantastic opportunities for Care Assistants to join the team at Chestnuts located in Aylesbury. Joining us on either a full time or part time permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £7.70 rising to £8.00 after probation.

Heritage Care is a charitable organisation that provides a range of flexible individualised care and support services for people with learning disabilities, mental health support needs and older people.

We have opportunities for Care Assistants to join our home, Chestnuts based in Aylesbury.  You will work as part of a team providing physical, emotional, spiritual and social support to service users within the scheme to encourage them to achieve maximum independence where possible. To ensure that the highest standard of care is maintained in accordance with Heritage Care’s policies and procedures and CQC Fundamental Standards.

You will need to be a great team player and be able to build positive relationships with our service users, their families and our staff. As one of our Care Assistants, you will need to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of older people living within the scheme and how to support them to lead valued lives in the community. Good literacy, numerical and verbal skills are a must. It’s also very important that you are organised, patient and of a caring nature.

The Chestnuts is a modern, purpose built registered care home in Aylesbury for 64 older people. The home is able to accommodate and support up to 32 residents with a higher level of support need, specifically those living with dementia. Residents at The Chestnuts enjoy a welcoming and social environment where they can choose to participate in a range of activities and events. The spacious lounges are perfect for residents to sit and relax, socialise or watch television.

Salary: £7.70 rising to £8.00 per hour after probation. Enhancements are also paid at 10% of hourly rate for night hours worked.

Hours of work: 14, 21, 28 or 35 hours per week available, including early and late shifts, and regular weekends on rolling rota basis .
