This leading developer and manufacturer of safety critical components for a broad range of automotive OEMs are seeking a hands on Process Engineer from an high volume manufacturing background. As Process Engineer, you will support the improvement to all production processes, training and coaching staff in the technical team and operations team.
Process Engineer
Location: Telford
Salary: GBP30000 - GBP35000
As Process Engineer, you will work in manufacturing supporting the improvement of the production processes and be instrumental in new product introduction and product launches on site.
o Support the team by attending issues without delay and follow the correct process to ensure action is taken
o Monitor cycle times, report anomalies through escalation
o Liaise with maintenance, tool room, and engineers in relation to any machine break downs
o Manage support and guide the setters and technicians to progress in their technical and process knowledge
o Strive to improve processes through the application of kaizen and continuous improvement techniques
You will already have several years experience working as a Production Engineer or Process Engineer working in a high volume manufacturing environment, ideally with some exposure to automotive manufacturing standards:
o Experience in scrap / defect reduction
o Able to perform and analyse capability studies
o Ability to understand and implement process control in manufacturing
o Highly numerate with good analytical skills
o Able to lead cross functional improvement teams
o Risk management
o Ideally Engineering Apprenticeship and HNC/HND/Degree qualified in an engineering related subject or equivalent
