An excellent opportunity on offer for a Machinist / Prototype Build Engineer looking to take the next step in their career with an expanding, market leading company that can offer excellent training and development.
Are you experienced in Milling and Lathe work? Do you want to be a key part of the R&D department, manufacturing and assembling prototype machinery?
This company were established over 40 years ago, and specialise in the design and manufacturing of high-end print finishing equipment. They have long standing contract with a number of global Blue-chip clients within the industry. They have seen considerable growth in revenue over the last few years, and are looking to bring in a new engineer who will help develop a new product for an exhibition next year.
In this role you will be responsible for building prototype machinery. You will be liaising with the design department on specifications and turning the concept design into a working prototype. The role will be based in the R&D department, and will involve working with mills, lathes, injection moulders, welders, drills and cutters. You will manufacture parts to specification and assemble prototype machinery.
This role would ideally suit a candidate from a CNC Machinist / Toolmaking / Plastic injection moulding background, who wants to take the next step in their career and work in a R&D department on bespoke, concept products.
The Role:
* Working in a research and development department
* Manufacturing Jigs and building and prototypes
* Working on mills and lathes
* Working alongside the drawing office
* Preparing products for manufacture
* GBP25,000 - GBP30,000 + Overtime + Pension + 21 Days Holiday
The Person:
* Experience with metalwork tools, (Mills and Lathes)
* Good engineering background
* Knowledge of drilling and welding (Not essential)
* Experience of building and assembly
* Live near Bedfordshire
