Store Manager

Barbour is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working individual to manage all aspects of its new Guildford Store to achieve the sales budget and brand objectives. The role reports in to Retail Sales Manager and involves: exceeding sales/ profitability budgets for the store; maintaining costs in line with the store budget; commercially managing the store layout; developing and maintaining visual merchandising standards and maintaining a personal development programme for all team members and self. The role will also involve motivating the team through effective leadership and management; developing them to deliver outstanding customer service; delivering product relevant training and selling skills coaching; undertaking effective both formal and informal performance management and recruiting new members to the team as required.

You will have experience in a similar retail store management role; with a minimum of 2 years managerial experience and experience in a store with a minimum turnover of one million pounds.

The ideal candidate will also have: excellent people management skills, conflict resolution ability, effective delegation skills and be able to prioritise; excellent verbal and written communication skills to build strong relationships internally and externally at all business levels; problem solving and decision making skills; experience in planning/ executing stock counts; an understanding of visual merchandising; understand customer care and selling skills and be able to generate commitment and enthusiasm within the team.

Flexibility on working hours is essential during peak periods. You must be able to act as a key holder for the store and may be required to work/ visit alternative locations.
