We are currently looking to recruit an Engineer to join the established Civil Engineering Design team based in our Oxford office.
The role is to provide a pro-active supporting function, reporting directly to a Senior Engineer within the Practice. The successful candidate will be expected to take responsibility for management of the design process on a range of infrastructure projects for public and private sector clients and will have the opportunity to run their own projects.
The role sits between the senior staff and the technician and CAD operator positions and the successful candidate will be expected to delegate to and manage the activities and outputs of the more junior team members.
Key responsibilities / Duties will include:
??Support the production of multi-disciplinary Highway designs and provision for all types and scales of infrastructure and development projects
??Ensure all design activities are undertaken in compliance with CDM Regulations
??Delegate and manage the CAD and technician resource in the delivery of outputs to agreed deadlines
??Liaise with the client and design teams on active projects and to manage and procure deliverables on time
??Deliver projects within budget constraints and ensure colleagues and line managers are kept informed of progress
??Prepare and manage technical reports, drawings, schedules, bills of quantities, cost estimates and other documents in accordance with current industry standards

About You
The successful candidate will have previous experience and will be working towards Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional Institution, or be prepared to commit to achieving a relevant professional qualification. You will provided with support for development within a multi-disciplinary technical environment.

The candidate will require:
??A degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification
??An appropriate CSCS card or be prepared to obtain one
??Experience of Section 38, 278 and 104 and/or projects carried out under Highways England or Network Rail processes and procedures
??Broad experience of multi-disciplinary highway design and specification ideally gained within a civil engineering consultancy
??Experience of the delegation and management of technician and CAD resources
??Excellent communication and written skills with the ability to both compile and check reports and prioritise to achieve project and client deadlines
Competence in the use of Microsoft Office programmesThe ability to liaise with a broad range of stakeholders is essential with exceptional attention to detail and good presentation skills
