We are looking for an experienced Holiday Park General Manager to oversee the running of this beautiful park in County Durham.
Purpose of the Role
To take responsibility for all aspects of the day to day running of the Park. To manage, organise, control and supervise efficiently and profitably all aspects of the park in line with Company policies and procedures to meet the service and financial targets of the business.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Principle Accountabilities:
* Manage, organise, control and supervise efficiently and profitably all aspects
of the park in line with Company policies and procedures to meet the service
and financial targets of the business.
* Recruit, retain, motivate, train and develop department Head's alongside
their direct reports to ensure that we get the best from our people,
delivering and exceeding our owners and guests expectations.
* Organise and implement all aspects of compliance with all appropriate
legislation.
* Maximise sales, profitability and customer service to position both the park
and the company.
Deliver an Effective Operation:
* Plan the work of the park team to meet annual park targets, prioritising key
tasks and maximising resources.
* Thoroughly investigate complaints and problems arising on the park to
establish root causes, determine short and long term solutions and monitor
progress to ensure swift, safe and sustainable resolutions.
* Ensure high service standards are delivered, assisting in maximising
occupancy of holiday hire fleet.
* Manage the maintenance and grounds team to ensure that high standards
are maintained, health & safety requirements are adhered to and customer
service standards are exceeded.
Improving Business Performance:
* Review and develop service standards for the park, seeking constant
improvement and working with customer expectations.
* Keep up to date with key legislation and new approaches within the industry
to improve the business.
* Identify new opportunities for greater efficiency, working with the team to
implement appropriate changes to improve the performance of the park.
Communication:
* Hold weekly department head meetings to discuss developments, agree
priorities and share knowledge.
* Enhance team members' performance through balanced and constructive
feedback, establishing training activities as appropriate to support their
development.
Financial:
* Manage and implement the budget for the park, monitoring and maintaining
effective control.
* Manage, organise, control and supervise any capital expenditure projects on
the park ensuring that financial and phasing objectives are achieved in line
with Company policy.
* Meet weekly, monthly and annual departmental and park operating profit
targets.
* Report when necessary financial monthly and quarterly management
information and profit & loss accounts.
* Identify retail opportunities and maximise spends.
* Prepare and submit to the Operations Director schedules in connection with
capital projects, winter maintenance, equipment and replacements.
People:
* Liaise with Central Human Resources and Park Administration Manager to
ensure that staff are recruited in line with company procedures and
statutory legislation.
* Liaise with Central Human Resources and Park Administration Manager to
ensure that company and departmental inductions are carried out for all
new starters by the appropriate manager and fully complete paperwork is
provided to Head Office in a timely manner.
* Ensure that all employees, are at all time following company uniform and
appearance standards.
* Build balanced and high performance teams, working together towards a
common goal.
* Liaise with Central Human Resources and Park Administration Manager to
ensure that company and departmental exit processes are carried out by the
relevant manager for all leavers, and the appropriate paperwork is provided
to Head Office in a timely manner.
* Ensure that all line managers adhere to company policy when dealing with
other HR matters such as absence management, annual leave requests,
disciplinary, grievance, and performance management including appraisals &
probation reviews, and training.
* Ensure that all departments operate within agreed expenditure budgets
including wage costs.
Health & Safety:
* Comply with all statutory and company regulations relating to health &
safety, hygiene, fire and emergency procedures.
* Ensure all staff abide by the all licensing laws, food safety act and food
hygiene regulations and other laws necessary for the running of the park.
* Ensure all employees in the park receive relevant health & safety and fire
training to comply with park, company and legal requirements.
* Ensure that company and park health and safety policies are followed and
relevant checks and reports are carried out as required.
* Ensure that all accidents, incidents and hazardous situations are dealt with in
the appropriate manner and that the company procedures in terms of
investigations and reporting are followed at all times.
* Ensure that all employees maintain the highest standards of hygiene and
cleanliness in all aspects of their work.
