At FCO Services, we protect information, assets and people for governments worldwide. Working in some of the most challenging and hostile locations across the globe, our Secure Global Services department ensures that we consistently meet the specific needs of our customers. Join this renowned segment of our organisation and you'll get to work on a range of high-profile projects that will have a notable impact on the way we secure our working environments.

Fulfil multiple roles across a worldwide reach

Operating within the Technical Services Centre, your primary role will be as a Carpenter; but you will delve into a number of different disciplines as part of this position. At one moment you could be bricklaying or decorating, the next you could be carrying out ground works or installing security and fire doors. You'll work alongside a multi-disciplinary team and may have to supervise on-site labourers where appropriate. While you're in the UK, you'll spend your time in our joinery workshop, manufacturing high quality, bespoke joinery products. But because you'll also be working on physical security installations, you may spend anything up to 22 weeks of the year abroad, giving you access to see our international reach.

Bring your skill set to broad and stimulating projects

As an effective decision-maker, you're capable of delivering a high standard of service while managing your own time appropriately. You can work both independently and with others - and because you'll act as a mentor and buddy to our apprentices, you'll also be able to exercise great interpersonal and leadership skills. It doesn't matter how complex an issue is; you can articulate it to anybody, from suppliers to project managers. What's more, your keen eye for detail will help to identify issues with our purchased materials and tooling. We're after a talented individual with competence in all aspects of first and second fix carpentry, including knowledge of fixed workshop machinery. You'll also possess a City & Guilds qualification in Carpentry & Joinery. And if you have experience of working in secure environments (e.g. government offices, prisons), then that's even better.

And be a reliable source for more than just governments

Our customers look to us to respond with speed, agility and innovation to their ever-changing security challenges. While we will provide you with all the guidance and opportunity you need to advance with your career, you will be the one that people come to for advice. For everyone from team leaders to our Technical Officers, you will be the first point of contact for construction and security-related issues. Become part of our team and you'll see that your influence will be far-reaching and appreciated across our organisation.

All our employees have to be security cleared to the highest level, so you will need to undergo a comprehensive vetting process before joining.
