Our client is a leading Industry specialist within the Automotive testing sector. They cover all aspects of automotive testing and validation on a independent basis at their prestigious, state of art facility in Bedfordshire.
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Facilities Engineer to join the Powertrain department. The successful candidate will be responsible providing Engineering support for the Powertrain gas emission equipment and chassis dyno.
Role Responsibilities
• Provide engineering support for the Powertrain equipment and test engineers
• Enhance the facility to increase operational efficiency and maximise running time
• Procurement of new equipment and managing CAPEX projects
• Manage maintenance and calibration of equipment
• Standardise and integrate the facility test equipment
• Follow quality systems and health and safety procedures
• Ensure all H&S and quality procedures have been adhered to
• Act in accordance with the behaviours for staff at all times
Criteria:
Qualifications
• Engineering Degree
Experience
• Must have experience of measurement devices, such as analytical analysers, Particle Number, FTIR's, preferably within automotive test
• Chassis dynamometer calibrations (instrumentation, dynos)
• Instrumentation experience (Thermocouples, pressure transducers etc.)
• Understanding of constant volume sampler systems
• Automotive background preferably in an engine testing or chassis dynamometer environment
Skills
• A good knowledge in the use of equipment including emissions measurement and data collection systems
• Skills in electronic, electrical and PCB
• Instrumentation experience (Thermocouples, pressure transducers etc.)
• Managing the scheduling of service & calibrations.
• Formulation & implementation of the short & long term plans.
• Ensuring that appropriate quality, safety and environmental processes are developed and adhered to.
• Responsibility for resolving any equipment issues that cannot be resolved at operational level.
• Good general IT skills especially MS Excel
• Responsibility for liasing with service support engineers.
• To develop test specifications to meet customer requirements.
• Financial responsibilities incurred as part of purchasing and maintaining the test equipment, including service contracts.
