Our client is currently recruiting for an experienced, part time Fitness trainer Level 3 or Level 4 – to join their Health Club based in Abbots Langley. They require a talented, passionate and FLEXIBLE person who can fulfil these hours and is possibly willing to go between sites as and when necessary.
Our clients currently run 3 Health and Fitness Clubs in Watford (Community Health Hub), Abbots Langley (Woodlands) and St Albans (Highfield Park) that have brought affordable fitness to the area. Part of their plans for the coming period is to create projects that integrate these different elements of the charity, maximising YMCA’s positive impact on those who need it most.
This post is located at Abbots Langley Health Club and is part of a creative, cohesive and skilled team, ensuring that member’s health & fitness needs are met. Whereas the overall purpose of Health Club is to provide fitness services, the focus of each centre may vary according to the customer base.
The key elements of the role are to:
Work in a team and alone to provide a creative and motivating environment within which the customer’s individual and collective health and fitness goals can be met, whilst demonstrating excellent customer care, communication skills and a sound fitness knowledge base.
Work towards and achieve the agreed Key Performance Indicators and performance objectives and ensure a high level of service is provided at all times.
Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
To hold a universally recognised fitness qualification Level 3+, approved by the Register of Exercise Professionals
REPS registered plus requirement to maintain on-going registration
First aid certificate appointed person or willingness to undertake qualification
Safeguarding Certificate or willingness to undertake training
Exercise to Music and/or coaching qualifications
Knowledge of health and safety legislation relevant to a fitness gym, the users and equipment
Good level of knowledge of the health and fitness industry
At least one year’s relevant work experience in a community focussed health & fitness facility
Experience of working with hard to reach groups
Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Understanding of boundaries and confidentiality
The successful will need to be able to fulfil the following rota (not for negotiation)
*Week 1: Tuesday = 15:30 pm – 22:00 pm, Friday = 06:45 am – 13:15 pm, Saturday = 08:45 am – 17:00 pm
*Week 2: Tuesday = 15:30 pm – 22:00 pm, Thursday = 15:30 pm – 22:00 pm, Friday = 14:30 pm – 21:00 pm, Saturday = 08:45 am – 17:00 pm
In return you will receive a Salary:
£11,122 (£18,745 FTE) per annum incl. Location Allowance – 22.5 hours per week.
