Our client is the largest independent housing association in the Borough of Broxbourne, providing over 4,600 homes across Hertfordshire and Essex.
Their mission is to build a range of homes for social rent, private rent and shared ownership to counteract the local housing crisis and shortage of homes in the area. They are extremely proud to provide sustainable places to live which are supported by the 180 team members.
Our client is currently seeking a Grounds Maintenance Supervisor to line-manage and be an active member of a small team responsible for delivering an efficient and customer-focussed grounds maintenance service, aimed at ensuring the estates are well-kept and desirable places to live.
You will be responsible for providing line-management to a small team of GM Operatives including monitoring performance, managing absence, providing on the job training. Other duties will include hedge cutting services, performing grass cutting duties using strimmers, hand and ride on lawn mowers and reporting on issues and undertaking shrub and herbaceous border maintenance.
Further to this you will plan and carry out landscaping and other improvement works such as ground preparation, turfing, seeding, shrub and tree planting. In addition you will keep all sites clean and tidy through the collection and removal of green waste and its responsible disposal.
The successful candidate must have experience of working in a grounds maintenance role along with strong people management skills. Use of hedge cutting, strimming, grass cutting and grounds equipment are essential. Knowledge of plants and horticulture is desirable.
Due to the nature of the role you must have a current driving license.
