Building Services Manager

This is a new sort after opportunity with a leading national contractor based in the South West area for a Building Services Manager (M&E), work on schemes within Education, Commercial, Leisure, Industrial and Defence Sectors.
This opportunity has become available due to sustained growth over the past 5 years increasing year on year. An extensive order book, now means it is necessary to recruit a Building Services Manager to join a large talented and driven team.
Predominantly you will be working on a variety of schemes from pre-construction through to delivery, schemes ranging from GBP5 million - GBP25 million in value with a number of much larger schemes coming through.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, quality and affordability across the design, maintenance and installation of all essential systems. Strong communication skills are an important trait for this role as you would be working alongside Estimators and the Construction delivery teams ensuring a good level continuity between works.
The main responsibilities of this role include:
- Ensure Building Service is delivered to agreed time scales and on a budget.
- Provide high-quality standards.
- Liaise with the on-site team.
- Review all designs and drawings.
- Ensure build ability on all schemes.
- Regular site inspections.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with Suppliers and Sub-Contractors.
- Resolve any queries, concerns with Consultants, Sub-contractors, Clients and Internal Staff.
Essential criteria for this opportunity:
- A degree or equivalent in Building Services Engineering, Operations and Maintenance Engineering
- Experience working for a national contractor or larger regional business
- Strong technical ability
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead a team
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Design, cost and quality and be up to date with current legislation.
