Grid Point specializes in the placement of both freelance and permanent site engineers. A client has asked us to find a senior site engineer to join their team as a permanent employee
LOCATION: The company is expanding rapidly and now has a groundworks division that requires a senior site engineer to cover projects for the following areas: North London/Berkshire/Surrey/Bucks/Herts
THE PROJECTS: Various groundwork and civil engineering packages including rc frames
SALARY: A salary up to 60k is being offered as they willing to pay for the right engineer
BENEFITS: Van + Fuel Card + Leica Robotic days holiday
HOURS: 8am-5pm 5 days a week
Start Date: ASAP
The role will involve the following:
1. Setting out: slabs, pop ups, bolts, beams, piles, manholes, drainage, roads etc
2. Setting out rc frames
3. Producing as built surveys
4. Completing QA paper work
5. Organising your daily work with the site foreman
IMPORTANT CRITERIA:
1. Excellent knowledge of using a robotic total station, the company uses Leica equipment but can hire in an alternative if required
2. AutoCAD skills are essential and must be of a high level as a setting out engineer, you will be sufficient with re scaling, rotating and moving drawings to say OS/Local Grids, producing as builts, overlay design drawings, uploading data to your controller etc
3. You must have a minimum of 5 years experience in groundworks and rc frame setting out
4. Solid setting out experience with a good attitude and excellent references are more important than academic qualifications, however, if you have a HNC/HND/Degree that is construction related then that would be advantageous.
5. You must be motivated and be able to work on your own initiative as well as being part of the site team
6. You must live within a reasonable driving distance of the areas listed above
6. You must have good communication skills, clear English and be able to communicate with the lads on site.
7. You must possess a valid CSCS card.
8. You must have the right to work in the UK.
