Our client is a forward-looking College of Further & Higher Education that serves a large area of South East England with a wide range of vocational and academic courses, both full and part time. The College is situated in Ewell, close to Epsom in Surrey, and is located in the green belt near Epsom Downs and can easily be accessed either by car (junctions 8-10 on the M25) or rail (Ewell West is close and the college is next to Ewell East where you can get regular direct trains to Clapham Junction and Victoria). The College was last inspected in February 2016 retaining its overall grading of 'Good' under the robust new Ofsted standards.

They are currently recruiting to the following position:

Security Officers

Term Time Only

£16,165 - £18,533 p.a. (to be pro rata for TTO)

(dependent on skills & experience)

The college is set in an attractive green campus outside Epsom with a large free on-site car park and convenient rail links to London and the South East from the neighbouring mainline station. The College is in the midst of extensive redevelopment to its 7-acre campus. In addition to a final salary pension scheme and generous holidays, staff have access to on-site facilities including sports centre, hair and beauty salons, motor vehicle service centre, osteopathy clinic, restaurant and nursery.

They are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Security Officers to work as part of their Estates, Health and Safety Team.

As a key member of their Security Team, you will be equally comfortable working alone and using your own initiative. You will have a strong commitment to ensuring safeguarding and promoting the welfare of their learners, in order to provide a safe and secure environment for their students, staff and visitors. A good understanding and awareness of current security environments and the ability to deal with a variety of situations in a calm and professional manner is key.

You will have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to build appropriate and professional relationships with staff and students, and be able to quickly assess situations and take the appropriate actions to defuse and manage a range of situations.

Experience of working in a similar environment or with young people is preferred.

A flexible approach to working hours is required. The team provide Security services across the College's operational hours by working a variable shift basis (day time and evenings only) Monday to Friday and working one in four Saturdays, for which time off is given in the week.
