Their recycling process begins with the collection of scrap metal from businesses, manufacturers, construction sites, government bodies and the general public. 

Our client’s depot and operational teams are instrumental to the company’s success; as they are the first stage in the process and receive delivery of a wide range of metals and materials. Their daily activities are supported by advanced systems which ensure accurate tracking and security for all materials.

Depot Manager
The role of Depot Manager at the Group is broad in its requirements, which will provide a challenging but rewarding working environment. You will take responsibility for the Operations and Commercial activities of one our client’s busy Depots. This will include supporting and leading a team of dedicated Operations and Administration staff; as well as managing visitors, customers, drivers and contractors when on site. You will also ensure the depot is working in line with Health and Safety regulations and Industry legislation.

The Depot Manager also has commercial responsibility for site. You will need to develop a good understanding of metal grades, making sure landed costs of material fall within authorised price boundaries. You will be well supported by the Commercial and Finance teams when assessing budgets, pricing and P&L activities.

You will also need to develop a detailed understanding of the various operations/processes relating to ferrous and non-ferrous metals, so any previous knowledge of mobile and static plant capabilities and their maintenance requirements would be beneficial.

To be considered, you will need:

- Experience in a leadership role, gained in metal recycling or a relevant industry, such as waste, aggregates or construction
- The ability to create a strong H&S culture
- The ability to inspire and motivate team members

Resourceful and entrepreneurial, as a Depot Manager, you’ll have excellent communication skills and will be able to work well under pressure or to tight deadlines. You’ll also have a strong customer focus and exceptional time-management abilities.
