Who will I be working for? 

Our client focuses on creating networking opportunities for businesses on a global scale. Offering world-class event, research and technology services, our client brings companies together to find solutions to real-world business challenges. 

As a world-wide company, they boast offices in the US to accompany their UK headquarters, over 260 staff globally, revenues of around £25 million and 15% year-on-year growth. The company is divided into two main divisions; a summit division which focuses on delivering international events and face-to-face meetings and a digital division which provides broadband to remote, vulnerable, low-income locations. 

The client base is made up of global fortune 500 companies, blue chips and multinationals and includes some house-hold names such as Microsoft and Nike. The contacts with these organisations are mainly at Director level or above. 

Due to ongoing success, they are now looking for a Business Development Executive to join their team in Bristol.

Initially, you’ll undertake two weeks of comprehensive training, followed by ongoing support and encouragement to ensure that you succeed in your role. 

You will have the opportunity to represent the business at international events, network with senior decision-makers and work with big brand names. 

Despite the fact that our client has a number of international offices, they’re still as close-knit as the day they started in 1993. They foster a sociable and friendly environment with music playing throughout the office and an early Friday finish is often on the cards. 

What will I be doing? 

As a Business Development Executive, you will provide marketing solutions to senior level executives from Fortune 500 companies, blue chips and multinationals. 

In this important role, you will: 

- Engage with decision makers regarding their business development plans 
- Match their services to live customer projects using our client’s unique intelligence 
- Forge strong working relationships with customers 
- Share your experience and knowledge with the rest of your team 
- Undertake research into clients, products and industries to build an understanding of new prospects 
- Proactively identify and build a strong pipeline of new business that you are well versed in 
- Develop a clear understanding of the decision-making process and key stakeholders within each new client 
- Connect with decision makers and ensure you have a clear game-plan as part of your approach 
- Demonstrate and understand the value of our client’s proposition 
- Identify clients’ needs and consult with them regarding the right product solution to meet their needs and deliver ROI 
- Manage opportunities throughout the entire new business sales cycle 
- Manage all sales activity, meet and exceed KPIs and revenue targets and log activities and opportunities in the Salesforce CRM system 

What do I need? 

To be considered, you will need: 

- Experience in a business development and/or sales role 
- The motivation and drive to hit and exceed targets 
- A high level of business acumen 
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills 
- A collaborative approach to problem-solving
