Supporting the business and our divisional offices, our Head Office functions cover all departments from our Executive Board through to our support functions such as Group Design & Technical, HR, Health & Safety, IT, Sales & Marketing, Commercial, Procurement, Group Finance, Corporate Affairs, as well as Legal and Company Secretariat. We also have a specialised function - Barratt Partnerships.

While the work varies from team to team, our key requirements don't. You must be well organised, extremely helpful and resourceful, and able to use your initiative. You'll understand that what you do is important, and impacts on your team, the department, and the wider business.

Summary of Role

To provide a professional, friendly and efficient reception service for the Group Support Centre, Wilson Bowden Developments and BD Living, attending to all visitors, callers and customers whilst maintaining company confidentiality at all times.

What Will I Be Responsible For?
Provide a Customer Focussed Reception Service for all Departments in GSC. Provide Reception Service for BD Living. Provide a point of contact for general enquiries to the Group and ensure enquiries are directed to the appropriate Department. Ensure all Visitors are recorded in the appropriate Visitors Book and the Book is taken to an appropriate external point during fire drills. Update the Telephone and Group Directory on a quarterly basis. Manage bookings diary for meeting rooms. Deal with the post and DX, and deliveries coming to and going from the office. Perform general office administration tasks and provide other appropriate ad hoc duties when required, to meet the needs of other departments - e.g. faxing, filing, photocopying, stationary ordering, etc. Provide holiday and sickness cover as required as part of the job share role.
Personal Characteristics/Qualifications/Experience
Experience of working in a reception or administration role. Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office programs. Self-disciplined, with demonstrably good time management skills. Ability to multi-task, and work efficiently and accurately under pressure. Team player, supportive of colleagues. Professional and pleasant manner in dealing with internal and external customers. Excellent telephone skills.
