We are offering a great opportunity for a bright Applications Engineer with plenty of initiative to gain a good understanding of the way the Vision Systems industry operates, whilst developing their own skills and contributing to the overall development of the organisation.

Our core activities involve the development of highly innovative automated inspection solutions for the pharmaceutical, medical devices and automotive industries. Our work covers the full range of factory automation processes and procedures including mechanical design, electrical control, machine vision and installation. We have a growing user base of blue chip customers in these markets, with hundreds of systems currently installed around the world.
The Applications Engineer will work with core engineering applications team to:
+ Understand and use our machine vision software packages.
+ Learn and understand machine vision technology including camera technology, optics, lighting and image processing basics under the guidance of the engineering team
+ Define and develop working machine vision solutions for use in customer systems, machines, demonstrations, evaluations and proposals
+ Be involved in developing our graphical software for bespoke applications, new products and plug-in extensions to the company's core image processing packages
+ Work with the team on specific projects for the conception and development of the company's automatic visual inspection solutions
+ Opportunity to develop vision & software engineering skills in a high technology engineering environment.
Flexible working:
There is some requirement for flexible working hours and weekend work (overtime paid for weekend work) as required.
Travel:
There is good opportunity for some travel within the UK, USA & Europe as part of our engineering team. Recent work has been completed in the USA, Hungary, Holland, Spain, Macedonia and Greece.

Essential:
+ Knowledge of machine vision software
+ Educated to degree level preferably in Computer Science/ Software Engineering related fields.

+ Well organised, ability to work to deadlines and a high attention to detail.
+ Ability to prioritise a heavy workload.
+ Ability and willingness to work as part of a team.
+ Clean and full UK driving licence.
Equally important will be the candidates' intellect, willingness to learn, ability to build relationships, putting themselves in others' shoes, while always making a positive impact with our clients and each other.
Desirable:
+ Knowledge of industrial automation
+ Knowledge of robotics.
+ Knowledge of programming languages
