We are looking to recruit an associate to join our Litigation team in Leeds. The role will have a focus on finance litigation matters.

The Group

The Finance Litigation Group understand that an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the finance transactions unpinning the disputes we deal with is essential to the sensible resolution of those disputes. We offer a wide variety of legal services to all types of financial institutions, and in relation to all types of banking transactions. We provide pragmatic and cost-effective solutions commensurate to the dispute involved. Our reputation in the market means we have a client base which is virtually unparalleled. Often working very closely with our non-contentious colleagues, our in-depth knowledge and understanding of the way our clients operate gives us a significant advantage over our opponents in finance litigation. We have a real expertise in the issues which are important, including complex recovery action by way of injunctive relief and otherwise, worldwide asset tracing, the effective resolution of all types of actions against banks and financial institutions (particularly where an important point of principal is involved), professional negligence actions and all aspects of asset finance related disputes and recoveries.

Our Requirements

Our ideal candidate will need the following skills:

Experience of cases across a broad range of commercial litigation issues, including litigation in financial services and/or financial markets. This can be gained either as part of a training contract or post-qualification.
The ability to manage aspects of complex cases and clients, with proven negotiation skills.
Knowledgeable of key areas of the law
The ability to liaise effectively with other fee earners from within the group, but also to liaise and coordinate with fee earners from other relevant disciplines and jurisdictions as required.
Ability to delegate to and supervising others where appropriate.
Excellent academic achievement with a minimum 2:1 degree
Experience gained within a comparable environment and at an appropriate level
Clear understanding of the operation and structure of a law firm
Willing to support business development activity, creating and maintaining strong client relationships.
