Job Description:

Senior protein scientist with immunoassay and diagnostics experience for global biopharma company in Cambridge Your new company Is a global biopharmaceutical company based in Cambridge who are looking to grow their diagnostics and biomarker science sections. Your new role You will be taking charge of multiple projects aimed at delivering immuno-based diagnostic tests to assist with a personalised healthcare approach. This is a senior role that will involve project, technical and operational management for a global biopharmaceutical company, working with teams in multiple locations, both within the company and at external partners, developing and implementing assay development strategies and leading efforts to develop and deliver complimentary / companion diagnostics. You will also be involved in identifying novel testing platforms, establishing tests in a wide range of clinical labs, and working with clinical scientists. What you'll need to succeed As well as very strong organisational, management and communication skills, you should have an excellent understanding of immuno-diagnostics, drug development, biomarkers and protein work and a track record of working with diagnostics in a pharmaceutical industry setting. You will need: * A PhD in biochemistry, immunology or molecular biology (or a similar area) * An excellent technical background, with a track record of working on/leading drug discovery and development projects * Exposure to drug diagnostic co-development, segmentation tool discovery or development of novel screening technologies * Experience of working with soluble biomarker assays, eg immunoassays, or diagnostic tests such as biomarker multiplexing * A history of working with collaborators or external partners * Strong pharmaceutical industry knowledge * A proven track record of excellence within diagnostics, patient segmentation or biomarkers, demonstrated through a strong publication / patent record or delivery of tools within this field * Experience with clinical test platforms would be an advantage What you'll get in return You'll get an excellent chance to further develop your skills and career within a growing company, lead a range of innovative projects that will make a significant difference to patients, work in a highly collaborative atmosphere and be rewarded with a very generous package.
