Location: Burnley
Hours: 14 hours per week - inc weekends

Salary:
Total salary of GBP 5,460 per annum for 14 hours per week

About the role
We are recruiting for an Assistant Shop Manager who will be responsible for supporting the shop manager with the successful delivery of a customer focussed shop team that is the 'window of the Red Cross' on the high street. In this hands-on role, you will assist the shop manager in supervising a team of dedicated staff and volunteers, and strive towards the shops goals.

The Assistant Shop Manager will uphold the reputation of the organisation and to engage with local trading opportunities to maximise contributions to the shops whether this is through stock donations, volunteer hours or cash donations.

You will be required to deputise for the Shop Manager on occasion and ensure the smooth running of the shop during these times, ensuring you are able to deal with financial transactions accurately and deliver a high standard of shop floor management, including health and safety guidance and merchandising duties.

About the team
You will work closely with the Shop Manager, shop staff and volunteers and other Red Cross personnel, cascading information as required and working collaboratively to ensure targets and objectives are successfully met.

We are keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Experience working in a retail environment
  • Experience with cash handling and reconciliation
  • Experience of using initiative for positive results
  • Understanding of financial and numerical information, and are target driven
  • Ability to understand issues related to working with volunteers
  • Proven customer care skills
  • Proven IT skills
