The Prince's Trust - Expanding our reach in Education

The Prince's Trust is a youth charity that helps change young lives. We give practical and financial support, developing key workplace skills, such as confidence and motivation. We work with 11 to 30-year-olds who have struggled at school, have been in care, are long-term unemployed or have been in trouble with the law. We have helped more than 825,000 young people since 1976 and support 100 more each working day. More than three in four young people we helped last year moved into work, education or training. We are committed to equality and valuing diversity.

We could not achieve the level of support we give to young people without the help of our volunteers.

In July 2016 Mosaic, an initiative founded by HRH The Prince of Wales in 2007 moved to The Prince's Trust and together we are aspiring to reach more young people than ever before. We share the same purpose - to help disadvantaged young people to overcome their barriers and move towards education, employment and training. Mosaic specifically targets those young people from deprived communities and has a strong presence within deprived Muslim communities, and connects volunteer role models to young people. Young British Muslims in today's society are disproportionately over-represented amongst those facing disadvantage. They suffer the greatest economic disadvantages of any group in society - unemployment rates for Muslims are more than twice that of the general population (12.8% compared to 5.4%) and 41% are economically inactive, compared to 21.8% of the general population.

We are now seeking individuals to join our regional Volunteer Management Teams to take forward this exciting growth strategy, and helping grow our work in hard-to-reach communities, especially deprived Muslim communities. The Volunteer Executive role ensure that volunteers are recruited, trained and inducted, and continually support and supervise this important role. The Trust puts volunteers at the heart of everything we do and relies heavily on the support of many volunteers each year to carry out this vital work with young people.

The successful candidate for this challenging role will be able to demonstrate and evidence strong organisational skills together with an ability to build strong and lasting relationships with volunteers, young people and colleagues. There will be a requirement to travel regularly across the caseload area and from time to time across the region and the UK.
