A new, exciting, job opportunity for a highly experienced and passionate Technical Lead to join an established international business in its Bath office on a permanent basis. The organisation is expanding its UK and international markets and as such the development team is also growing to support the needs of this hugely successful online business. The position offers excellent scope for being a key part of the company's future expansion and success in taking a lead role with the development teams, and on the architecture, design and development of current and new applications and features.

Your new role
As Technical Lead you will report into the CTO and be responsible for three small teams of .Net Developers. You will liaise closely with the Product teams helping to plan development features and will be a key part of architectural planning and design of the established applications, as well as new products. Supported by the Senior Developers, you will be leading the development teams through the full software lifecycle from strategic planning, design and development through to implementation and delivery, liaising with and working as part of the wider global business and support teams. You'll take on responsibility for encouraging innovation, designing cutting edge new products and features. You'll also look at performance issues, and continuous improvements, ultimately helping drive a customer focused and collaborative approach to deliver products of the highest quality to the market, with user experience at the heart of the company's focus. As the Technical Lead you will also have managerial responsibility for the dev teams, from succession planning and hiring, through to performance reviews and training opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed
You will have extensive commercial hands on experience at a senior level as a Software Engineer and of working with on multiple web applications, in an Agile environment. You will have excellent understanding and practical experience of development best practice and key software engineering principles, being involved in architectural design stages. You are technically highly capable, really passionate and driven about product design and development, always striving to work to your best ability and taking great pride in your work. Your communications and interpersonal skills are excellent, being comfortable communicating at all levels with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. You will be a natural people manager, leading from the front for your team. If you have exposure to or prior involvement in recruitment processes and interviews this would be an advantage.
