AS&T are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer on behalf of our client in the Dodworth area of Barnsley.
KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE
• Knowledge of maintaining quality requirements to meet IATF 16949 or similar standard.
• Knowledge of working to customer specific requirements within the automotive industry or similar precision industry.
• Educated to a minimum of HND in a technical discipline, preferably degree level.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in supporting the implementation of a quality assurance and improvement plan.
• An understanding of health and safety requirements achieved through attaining nationally recognised qualification.
PERSONAL SKILLS/QUALITIES
• Confidence.
• Excellent technical skills.
• Good numerical skills and an understanding of statistics.
• Leadership and team working skills.
• Planning and organisation skills.
• Communication, interpersonal and IT skills.
• Problem-solving skills including Ishikawa, root cause analysis through 5 why, 8D, PDCA, six sigma and quality circles.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• To support ensuring that products supplied to the customer meet specification.
• To support ensuring that the company's quality management system (QMS) complies with the requirements of the ISO standard and customer specific requirements.
• To support the deployment of the companies QMS is effective in achieving the target performance levels.
• Acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in quality performance.
• First line contact with production on all quality matters arising.
• Investigations and preparation of investigation and countermeasure reports for customers in the event of any deviations in quality performance.
• Work with support departments across the company to support the achievement of internal and external performance targets.
• Work with all internal departments to ensure that quality related procedures are being adhered.
