HR Business Partner-Maternity Leave Cover-12 months FTC

We are looking for a commercially aware and results driven HR Business Partner to join our Industrial & Transport Division. This is a superb opportunity to join a fast paced, evolving team where you can really add value. Reporting into the Divisional HRD the HRBP will partner with Operations, working closely with the Director, General Managers and Support functions, contribute to the leadership, strategy and direction of the businesses & implement the People Plan.

The successful candidate can be based from any of our locations and the role will involve extensive travel to other sites.

Key Responsibilities

- To maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of HR capabilities and services across the I&T division. This will entail engaging with the HR CofE's and HR services. Responsible for developing, implementing and delivering the appropriate HR business plan for the Business Unit which reflects the challenges and opportunities within each - including:

Headcount

Organisational structure and plans

Recruitment

Talent & Succession Planning

Learning & Development

Engagement

Employee relations

Reward and recognition

- Acting as coach and trusted partner to the Director providing support in matters of performance management including succession and development for the leadership team.
- Delivery of business/HR change programmes either pan Wincanton or localised in line with business need.
- Embedding an effective engagement strategy to facilitate an enhanced employee relations culture, in line with customer and corporate strategy.
- Providing in depth employment law expertise and its application in the context of managing employee relations issues covering matters such as collective bargaining; TUPE; collective grievances and complex case management.
- Producing, analysing and interpreting business and functional people performance metrics to inform decision making and developing business focussed solutions and action plans to optimise performance.
- Working closely with the Central Resourcing team to identify critical roles and hot spots, develop forecast for recruitment and talent agreeing developmental activities for Business /Region.
- Manage the annual cycle of performance management, annual salary review and bonus programmes for the sector.

Skills, Experience & Attributes

- In depth generalist HR experience, covering all elements of HR Management
- Degree educated or equivalent
- Ideally CIPD qualified
- A track record of success gained in a fast-paced, cost-conscious and customer focussed business environment(s) & different business sectors / parts of the business
- Exposure to leading and effecting organisational change in a complex employee relations environment, including TUPE
- An understanding of how to build organisational capability through effective talent management, succession planning and learning and development
- Experience of and credibility to interface at senior management level
- Excellent relationship and rapport building skills with internal and external contacts at any level
- Financially aware, commercial, numerate and able to identify and enable key levers for business success
- Commercially aware and results driven
- Robust, resilient and diplomatic
- A strong customer service mindset when dealing with both internal and external stakeholders
- Capacity to deal with a wide range of stakeholders with conflicting priorities
- High level of passion, drive and enthusiasm for the job
