Bridges specialise in the installation, servicing and repair of electrical and mechanical installations as well as the design of control panels. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful and expanding business with a superb reputation, within the water and waste industry.

THE ROLE

• Management of staff (as above) on site
• Taking responsibility for the health & safety of self and all under your control
• Minimising impact on & protection of the environment
• Safe cost effective delivery of mechanical installations in line with company SHEQ policies
• Managing the completion of site installation work ensuring work is on schedule and within budget, including:
o Planning the work efficiently in order to meet agreed deadlines
o Ordering materials and ensuring that the correct materials are on site when required
o Interpretation of site drawings and project information
o Carrying out installation works on site
o Assisting with testing and commissioning of installations
o Liaising with other contractors
o Monitor and inspect the quality of work on site to ensure work is completed right the first time
o Undertaking and recording statutory inspections of plant and equipment
o Report all accidents, incidents and near misses
o Respect the environment, implement control measures where applicable to protect the environment
o Implement measures to prevent waste production
o Ensure all waste is handled in line with legislation
o To maintain confidentiality of information and ensure that information received is not disclosed, unless appropriate, to other Bridges personnel or external bodies

REQUIREMENTS

• Punctuality and reliability
• Knowledge of health & safety legislation and company procedures
• Willingness to learn and undertake occupational and Health and Safety training
• Numeric and reading skills
• Prepared to take responsibility for self and others
• Good communication skills
• Able to work on own initiative
• Ability to give and take instruction

Please note that the role requires the successful individual to undergo a medical examination to identify fitness to carry out the role in question; including the fitness to work with electrical power tools, to work at height and to work in confined spaces.
