This business manages critical incidents in the car and home on behalf of the world's leading insurers, brokers and fleet managers, together with warranty and service plan provision for many automotive manufacturers globally.
An exciting opportunity has arisen in their Motor Engineering department as an Engineer Image Assessor. You will be working as part of the team to help the settlement of motor claims by efficiently inspecting all types of vehicles, using desktop computer software providing estimating ability and images of vehicles that have been damaged and estimate based systems. This is achieved by providing accurate vehicle valuations and assessments of repair costs by authorising repairs.
This is a remote post, working from home on a full/part time basis depending on your location once adequate training standard has been achieved, with a minimum of 1 visit to the office in Fareham per month.
Main Accountabilities:
- Responsibility for the inspection of all types of damaged vehicles using the images and estimates.
- Meeting leakage and cost targets, adhering to the correct repair creating reports and assessments and authorisation and direction of repairs, together with the correct valuation of vehicles.
- Working to meet Service Level Agreement (SLA) as stipulated by our clients.
- Establish a working relationship with our approved repairer network throughout the UK.
- Providing an excellent customer service and delivering a positive customer experience.
- Professional judgement decision making in relation to Image or Physical Independent Inspections.
- Delivering the right decision based on the most economical settlement.
- Total loss decision and settlement in line with current guidelines.
- Provide technical support and guidance for Claims branches.
- Support the business during surge events by performing physical inspections where required.
- Proactively deal with complaints in line with company and FCA guidelines.
Your skills and experience:
- Substantial experience in motor repair industry.
- Practical motor engineering Industry experience.
- A member or associate of the following: Institute of Automotive Engineer Assessors (IAEA) or willing to study for membership or
- Excellent IT skills covering all Microsoft Office Applications
- ATA/VDA qualified or working towards IMI and IRTE.
- Familiar with computerised estimating systems including Audatex.
- Excellent communication, negotiation skills.
- Report-writing skills, adaptable to level at which communication directed
