Our client’s in Huddersfield are recruiting for a Senior Occupational health Nurse - with proven experience of providing comprehensive specialist occupational health advice and guidance to services to assist in the development of strategies to reduce the adverse effects of potential health hazards.
Qualification – Essential
NMC) approved degree or NMC approved course
Current registration with the NMC
Public Health Nursing (SCPHN)- courses
Skills, Abilities & Experience – Essential
Proven experience of setting objectives and targets for the Employee Health Care Unit (EHCU) Service
Good knowledge of the EHCU IT systems and working within the EHCU budget
Excellent understanding of the legal requirements
Experience of the wider, national agenda and emerging EHCU practices.
Using innovation and creativity to ensure best Employee Health Care service possible
Experience of adapting easily to changes and analysing risks.
Experience of providing support to the Employee Health Care Nurses.
Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team;
Experience of assessing the work environment for potential health and safety problems;
Experience of drafting policy development procedures within the work environment;
Experience of designing, developing and delivering new health promotion initiatives;
Experience of conducting a range of risk and health assessments;
Experience of delivering a range of health and health and safety related training programmes;
Experience of contributing to accident follow up;
Experience of monitoring employee exposure to hazardous chemicals and undertaking statutory and non-statutory health surveillance;
Must have good undertaking a role in attendance management;
Must have good experience developing return to work strategies following serious injury or a period of prolonged ill-health;
Experience of advising on disability issues in the workplace;
Experience of advising employers on how they can achieve compliance with health and safety and employment legislation;
Must show example of keeping up to date with legal and professional changes associated with public health and occupational health and safety.
