VETERINARY CARE ASSISTANT – PART TIME
Our small animal practice in Croydon has an exciting opportunity to join the team and work in conjunction with our clinical colleagues, delivering outstanding animal healthcare. We are a certified training practice, situated inside a Pets at Home store at Waddon Goods Yard. Our practice is easily accessible, with Waddon train station located 5 minutes away and there are great links from East Croydon to London Bridge, Victoria and Kings Cross (all accessible within 15-25 mins).
Obi, our Partner and Senior Vet leads an established team of 3 Vets, 4 RVN’s, 2 SVN’s and 2 VCA’s and is open to offering RVN training for the right candidate who secures the role of VCA. In the role of VCA you will provide invaluable support to the clinical team and you will be responsible for all aspects of clinical cleaning, preparation of tools and equipment, animal handling, post-operative care and client care. The role will also include Reception duties, involving meeting and greeting clients, answering the telephone, making appointments and responding to the queries.
Person Specification
Our new colleague will be a warm, caring individual who is nothing short of passionate about animal wellbeing. Valuing the importance of working in a team, you will have a supportive and proactive approach with the ability to remain calm and work well under pressure. As Reception duties are covered within this role we are also looking for customer service experience and good communication skills. Previous experience of working in a veterinary clinic along with animal handling skills is necessary, with basic experience of monitoring anaesthesia being desirable.
This is a part time role working 30 hours per week, with 1 in 3 weekends.
