Synopsis:                             

Peninsula Finance plc is a thriving specialist mortgage lender located in the heart of Plymouth City Centre. Due to the continued success of our business we currently have a vacancy for a dynamic individual to join our expanding team. The role will entail a wide range of disciplines through all company functions and the candidate will need to obtain an understanding of the strategy that underpins Company activity. There will be a particular emphasis on accounts support and to initially learn the full extent of our business. This is an opportunity to become a key addition and valued team member of a highly reputable and successful mortgage lender in the South West.

Key Attributes:   

  • Previous experience in a finance related business with knowledge of property lending environment preferred although full training can be provided to a graduate who demonstrates high aptitude in numeracy and a keen interest in accounts and in a lending/finance based business;
  • Excellent communication skills to a wide range of people both internally and to external stakeholders;
  • Ability to work within a small team but also independently and on own initiative;
  • Excellent organisation skills to ensure deadlines are met;
  • Ability to assimilate information quickly and work under pressure in peak times;
  • Good foundation knowledge of IT systems including accounting packages such as Sage and Excel spreadsheets

Job role:

  • Support to Accountant on key accounting functions. After training role on Company quarterly and year end audit;
  • Managing and administering insurance on property portfolio
  • Understanding and supporting underwriting team on lending operations
  • Providing administrative support to Loan Stock investment management
  • Providing administrative support to Loan Book management, (understanding property litigation, mortgage regulation and recoveries policy)
  • Reports to CEO and Board level as required;
