We are looking for Executive Officers (EOs) to work in the North West London and South Central Regional Team in the Academies Regional Delivery Group.
The preferred candidates will work to support the objectives of the Regional Schools Commissioner (RSC). The RSCs have been appointed by Ministers to take decisions on their behalf in respect of intervention in underperforming academies and free schools; recruiting new academy sponsors; approving significant changes to existing academies and approving new academy provision and free schools.
RSCs represent a significant step for the department in delivering Ministers' vision of a sector-led education system and with the implementation of the Education and Adoption Act 2016 the RSCs powers have been further expanded to allow them greater scope to improve school performance across England.
The preferred candidate will have:
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads;
• Confident and accurate written and oral communication skills;
• Good analytical skills to critically assess information and make effective recommendations.
In addition, they will:
• Build effective networks and relationships across the team, division and wider department.
• Proactively seek feedback, act on it and pursue their own development;
• Embody the Civil Service values and will understand how their work fits into the bigger picture of the Department and central government.
Key Responsibilities:
There are different roles available, key responsibilities for the roles include:
• Managing and organising your own projects within the region. These might include opening new academies or converting existing state schools, matching academies with sponsors or managing open academies/free schools in a local authority to ensure consistently high performance;
• Building strong working relationships with key stakeholders including head teachers and academy sponsors within our region;
• Directly supporting the RSC/Deputy Directors in the North West London and South Central Region including helping to manage workload and diary.
• Developing and supporting programme products (e.g. risk registers, plans, process charts and maps)
• Supporting colleagues in the wider North West London and South Central Regional Team in their brokerage, delivery and open academies work more generally;
• Providing high quality reports in a range of formats including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Supporting the wider regional team in producing key messages, briefings, Freedom of Information requests, Parliamentary Questions, submissions, lines to take/core scripts and correspondence.

Qualifications
Must have a degree or foundation degree awarded from a UK university in the last 3 years - 2015, 2016 and 2017.
Please include in your application the dates of attendance at university and the date your degree was awarded.
If you have more than one degree then the first degree obtained must be from a UK university in the years of 2015, 2016 or 2017.
