Our client is seeking a capable Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician to be based in Lutterworth, Leicestershire. You will be responsible for ensuring that new products with mainly electrical and/or mechanical content are introduced into manufacturing in a timely, efficient, cost effective and accurate manner. You will assist customers in cost reduction and ease of fabrication and assembled and assist in other appropriate technical areas as required.
Role responsibilities: - Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician - Lutterworth
Assist with, and be responsible for, 'front-end' engineering and completion of New Product Introduction (NPI) using the standard processes and procedures, highlighting DFM and production capability issues as appropriate, and assisting in implementing appropriate assembly lines.
Ensure the design and implementation of all documents, drawings, process routings, tooling, build instructions etc. required to facilitate the above.
Plan, manage and hands-on involvement in all projects allocated to them by engineering management, including liaison with the relevant Account Manager and closure of issues found during NPI.
Assist in investigating and reporting on technical problems and internal/external customer complaints offering solutions where possible. This may include revising drawings using CAD, and suggesting alternative manufacturing methods and/or materials.
Support to Account Managers and New Business Development on technical issues, including liaison with customers and understanding their requirements.
The successful candidate will have Minimum of 2 years practical experience within an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment It is essential that you have experience of a professional CAD. You will have a demonstrable attention to detail with a strong 'right first every time' attitude and have excellent communication skills.
Key experience essential for the role- Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician - Lutterworth
Minimum of 2 years practical experience within an electro-mechanical manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and inspection standards for mechanical assemblies.
Good understanding of electrical engineering and wiring.
Experience of a professional CAD package (Solidworks preferred)
Excellent communication skills; fluent English required.
Proactive, self-motivated and organised.
Computer literate, PC Skills including Microsoft packages.
Basic project management skills
Desirable
Working towards HND / Degree level in a technical subject.
Experience in electrical design
Experience in mechanical design
