This is an exciting opportunity to join the communications team of a leading 3rd party logistics company. You'll be part of a busy, hard-working team for a fast-growing business.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and pro-active individual to support our internal communications work. You will be organised, motivated and have a demonstrable interest internal communications. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to think creatively in developing content and innovative ways for delivery.

Working with the Internal Communications team, you will be supporting with the delivery and implementation of our strategy in an innovative and engaging format to inform, support and encourage our employees to be curious about our business, get involved in discussions, and ultimately, drive engagement and improve performance levels.

You will support in driving the internal communication agenda, evaluating and championing new and effective ways to communicate internally through multiple communication channels. Writing, editing and producing content group wide.

This is a varied role which will allow you to develop your skills in a busy and dynamic department.

Responsibilities include:

- Explore, evaluate and champion new, effective, ways to communicate internally
- Generate quality content across multiple channels with the production of communication collateral including newsletters/magazines, presentations, meetings, RSS feeds, video blogs, social media feeds, briefings, bulletins and case studies
- Support in developing and maintaining communications channels for employees; draft and/or edit messages as required, providing context, clarity, consistency and appropriate tone, and create linkages to the company's strategic priorities.
- Help build Wincanton's reputation through identifying our best success stories, supporting award entries and representing the company externally
- Actively scanning the external market for appropriate engagement best practice and innovation to bring into Wincanton
- Co-ordinate internal communication activities, including senior manager programme (site visits, listening groups etc), announcements, cascades and initiatives
- Collecting timely data to support business initiatives through focus groups, surveys, town halls, one-on-one interviews, and other methodology; evaluates and applies the data to support decisions

Person specification

- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Excellent writing skills - able to write in concise, error-free English
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - able to articulate clearly verbally and in writing to a variety of people at all levels
- Good attention to detail
- Conversant in, and enthusiastic about, using social media platforms
- Demonstrated interest in digital media
- Motivated, pro-active, well-organised, reliable and willing to work flexibly
- Experience of internal communications is desirable but not essential
- Able to interpret and produce information creatively and on the right level and relevance for the audience
