Senior Assistant Buyer- Fashion and Homewares

A long-standing retailer in the Yorkshire area is recruiting for an Assistant Buyer to work on their Womenswear Fashion brand within the company.

Your new company
My client is a Multi-channel and reputable retailer in Yorkshire who are looking for a Senior Assistant Buyer to join their strong team of buyers and drive the company through success. They are a long-standing retailer who serve an incredibly large and diverse range of customers and sell a mixture of Fashion and Non-Fashion products. Due to internal promotions, they now have the opportunity for a Senior Assistant Buyer to join their established Fashion team.

Your new role
You will be assisting the Buyer to produce successful commercial ranges. You will do this by providing accurate data, excellent sample management and commercial awareness. Part of your role will involve competitor shopping, either in store or online, to benchmark the company's range and that of their competitors, identifying any in seasonal promotions, product opportunities, or new brands. During range reviews, you will collect and provide data on the performance of the range to present back to buyer to help support the buyer in range sign off. Sample management will feature heavily in your day, you will manage the outgoing and incoming post, and ensuring samples are posted and arrive on time to ensure the critical path is not delayed. An understanding of the critical path will be beneficial here as you will be monitoring this and moving product through it when samples are processed and approvals are made.

What you'll need to succeed
This role is an Assistant Buyer level role, you will need at least 2-3 years' experience working within Fashion Buying and have a full understanding of the Product/Buying Life Cycle or Critical Path. You should be able to manage your own time and workload as there may be conflicting priorities you will have to manage during your day. You will have to be a good communicator as you will be working closely with many departments throughout the company such as QA, Design, Merchandising and Marketing.

What you'll get in return
As well as working for a successful, major retailer in the Yorkshire area, you will gain great experience training throughout your journey with this company. You will receive staff discount on fashion and homewares, company bonus and flexible working hours.
