UK based distributor of Specialist Capital Equipment Solutions to the food and pharmaceutical industries is looking to hire an experienced Sales Manager / Sales Engineer to sell to customers across the UK.
SALARY: Up to GBP45,000
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: Bonus based on personal performance up to 20% + Company car + Good Holiday package rising with service + Access to company benefits scheme including pension plan.
LOCATION: Extended commutable to the head office in Fleet. This is a field based role covering the UK (though the majority of work will be in the South.)
JOB SPECIFICATION:
This is a home based sales role covering the UK but with the majority of your work skewing towards the South of England. You will be required to come to the Fleet based office once or twice per week once up to speed. Primarily you will be selling new capital equipment, but also spares / service contracts as required. Approximately 65% of the job is area sales account management and business development of those existing accounts. 35% will be business development from new accounts - this will primarily come from networking, leveraging existing business relationships and identifying opportunities from leads.
The sales cycle is typically six to nine months and order values are in excess of GBP100k.
New business development / new area sales management is a mix of self-generation, networking and following of leads from marketing (including a 3rd party marketing company and attending trade shows in the UK and Europe)
REQUIREMENTS: You MUST have:
* A proven track record of sales success - selling into industrial customers.
* Some technical / engineering understanding (from experience or education) to help sell capital equipment.
* A consultative sales style - happy to manage projects and customer accounts with large order values and long lead cycles.
In addition, you will probably have a qualification in an engineering related discipline
