Health & Safety Manager

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Based: Barnstaple, North Devon

Reporting to the Director of Neighbourhoods, you will need to demonstrate the necessary experience and qualifications to be the Competent Person managing and developing all aspects of Health and Safety across all our NDH services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • providing leadership, advice, support and guidance on all aspects of health and safety across the business;
  • implementing, embedding, maintaining and developing a Health & Safety management system and compliance framework that exceeds statutory, regulatory and best practice requirements for our operations;
  • putting controls in place to monitor H&S compliance whilst engaging, motivating and enthusing managers and staff to develop and maintain a positive, well informed health and safety culture;
  • developing and overseeing contingency and response plans that anticipate or manage appropriately and robustly any health and safety related issues that may emerge.

Through qualifications and experience you will be able to demonstrate how you will lead on all aspects of Health & Safety and our Compliance and regulatory requirements.

Also important will be your excellent all round communications skills to enable you to engage with, challenge, support and provide training for staff at all levels to maintain the best possible H&S awareness and culture.
