Job Description AUDIO VISUAL INSTALLATION ENGINEER - GBP18000 - GBP25000 - MELTON MOWBRAY
This unique company specialises in designing and developing bespoke interactive and AV solutions that engage people and enhance visitors experiences in museums, galleries, heritage sites and exhibitions.
Having delivered over 150 customised interactive solutions for some of the UK's largest attractions, they are now seeking an Audio Visual Installation Engineer to complete bespoke installations from end to end, on time and to a high standard. An installation often involves working with main contractors so experience of working with other trades is an essential criterion. The role includes installations throughout the UK, so you will be working away from home regularly.
Specifically you will be responsible for:
- Installation & termination of data cabling and configuration and support of IP networks and systems
- Installation & commissioning of screens, projectors, control systems, kiosks, amplifiers, matrixes and general AV systems
- Working with large screen and other bracketry, unistrut and fixings
- System programming, fault finding and resolution
- Rack building & dressing
- Working at heights when appropriate
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable experience of installing custom interactive equipment on large scale projects including experience in RS232 and IR control. Experience of Google Sketchup and Windows based PC applications, particularly Microsoft Excel is important. You'll also have experience in some form of electrical engineer and ideally training to enable you to work at heights.
Working on client site and with other contractors is going to demand exceptional problem solving and customer service skills combined with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure. A great communicator, you'll have experience of managing people, strong organisational skills and be happy to use initiative to get the job done. Your outgoing and positive personality will help you work closely with the team. This is an active role, so you will need to be physically fit and have a full driving licence.
