The continued strong workload of our Urban Drainage team in the South West reflects its success in de-livering a range of services across the spectrum of highways, transportation and housing development services in the UK. Projects range from scheme development, preliminary and detailed design and construction in partner-ship with a range of private and public sector clients including West Midlands Highway Alliance, High-ways Agency, MoD, Aone Plus (MAC), local authorities and major contractors. The Role: We are looking for a Senior Urban Drainage Design Engineer to further our resource capability to be based in Swindon, Exeter or Cardiff The principal functions of this senior position are to provide a technical lead for drainage and flood re-lated deliverables for highway and MoD projects. Main responsibilities: - Liaison with the client teams regarding strategic flood risk issues. - Technical lead for flood risk strategy and drainage issues on highway related projects from conceptual stages through all phases of pre and post contract activities. - Liaison with other discipline team leaders to ensure technical integration of drainage issues. - Advise and deliver highway drainage designs. - Advise and deliver flood mitigation strategies. - Advise on software procurement. - Advise on technical training and development of drainage engineers/technicians. - Business support functions, including assistance with the preparation of bids and submissions. - Technical leadership and overseeing of a small team. The minimum qualifications for this position are: - A relevant civil engineering qualification HNC or Degree. - The individual should be able to demonstrate a high degree of technical independence. - Demonstrate client liaison for flood risk initiatives and remedies. - Leadership qualities and the ability to maintain a highly motivated team. - Ability to give strategic flood risk input to multidisciplinary projects and be the principal client contact. - Knowledge and experience of Highway Drainage solutions. - Experience of the SUDS drainage approach and solutions. - Experience of Microdrainage or Windes would be preferable.
