Newly Qualified Accountant

Shawbrook Bank is currently looking to recruit a qualified Financial Accountant into its established Financial Accounting Function based in Brentwood. This is an exciting opportunity for a newly qualified accountant to join a high performing central function. This role offers excellent exposure to the business and the opportunity for the successful candidate to get involved in a wide variety of accounting activities. As Financial Accountant you will be responsible for providing accounting and administrative support to the wider business. Key responsibilities will include the following: Recording daily movements of the lending portfolio and the deposits business area. Completing Bank Reconciliations Carrying out month end tasks including accruals, deferred income and control account reconciliations. Accounting for commissions, clawbacks and interest income. Leading project work from a finance perspective. Ad-hoc duties as and when to support the finance team. Suitable candidates will have the following experience and qualifications: Finalist level or newly qualified ACCA/ACA Previous experience of working within the financial services industry would be useful but not essential. At least intermediate level of excel including V-lookups & Pivot tables. Excellent technical accounting knowledge, including exposure to IFRS reporting. Proven track record of delivering to tight deadlines and work under pressure. Able to demonstrate an analytical and solutions focused approach to work.
