Gap personnel are proud to be representing a leading organisation in their search for a packing operative. The company is a leading producer of soft-moulding cheese with over 30 years experience.
Reporting to the Packaging Manager as a Packing Operative you will ensure that our cheeses are weighed, packaged, stored and despatched for our customers to receive and the consumers to enjoy. Duties include:
•Move products as they become ready for different stages of the maturing and packing process
•Work as part of a team on a packing line to portion and wrap cheeses
•Pack wrapped product into bulk packaging for transport
•Ensure products are appropriately and accurately labelled
•Ensure work areas and equipment is kept clean
•Accurately complete any associated administration
Salary:- Starting hourly rate of GBP7.92 rising to GBP8.33 subject to satisfactory completion of training/probation (typically 6 months)
Typical working hours are:
Mon 7.00am - 3.30pm
Tue 7.00am - 12.00pm
Wed 7.00am - 3.30pm
Thu 7.00am - 4.30pm
Fri 7.00am - 3.30pm
Sat 6.00am - 12.00pm or to finish (typically 2.30pm)
Sun 6.00am - 12.00pm or to finish (typically 2.30pm)
Person Qualities:-
The quality of our products needs to be reliably and consistently maintained, and packing also needs to be performed efficiently, so the successful candidates will need to demonstrate the following:
??Ability to be a supportive and flexible team member
??Be diligent in following instructions
??Be able to work at a fast pace without compromising quality or safety
??Understand the importance of food hygiene and how to achieve the required standards
??Ability to read, write and speak good English, including numerical information
??Understand and apply safe working practices
??Understand the relationship between the way products are stored, and its quality for the consumer
??Previous dairy/food industry experience is desirable, but training will be given
