We are currently looking for an assistant quantity surveyor to join our team in Carlisle to work on an award-winning infrastructure project.
Responsibilities will include:
* Act in accordance with the project leaders instructions
* Take part in contract reviews relating to the contract with the client
* Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports
* Comply with QES system and Group/Unit directives
* Assist with the preparation of estimates and cost plans in line with the brief
* Assist in the on contract & supply chain procurement
* Assist in the development of programmes for the delivery of our services
* Assist with the preparation of standard documentation - reports, valuations, letters, financial statements etc
* Assist with the preparation of tender documents as required by procurement choice (including Bills of Quantities)
* The analysis of tenders and preparing tender reports at all stages of procurement
* Assess applications for payment in line with the contract terms
* Assist in the validation and agreement of any contractual claims
* Assist in the settlement of construction disputes and prepare and agree final accounts
* Assist with the production of lessons learned report for post contract review
* Attendance at design team and progress meetings as necessary
* Assist with the collection and analysis of cost data
We welcome applications from quantity surveyors with:
Degree qualified in a Quantity Surveying subject (or equivalent)
Desire to work towards chartered status (MRICS)
Proven skills and experience of delivering within a Cost Consultancy
Demonstrable track record of working in the management services environment
Flexibility in work location and travel
Excellent report writing skills
Ability to prioritise and able to work under pressure
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with clients and colleagues
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Ability to demonstrate a flexible approach to work
Proactive and self-motivated
