Electrical Site Project Engineer required by a company which is part of a world leading manufacturer of specialist high-tech low-volume electronic and electromechanical systems and is responsible for offering breakdown, repair and replacement services to utility providers and contractors within the UK, along with associated service projects.

The focus is on Mechanical and Electrical Site Projects. The Electrical Project Engineer will profitably engineer, procure and manage these projects, from receipt of order through to invoice and completion. The role includes detailed design work for individual projects as well as providing engineering support. Whilst projects are often combined electrical and mechanical, this role requires a bias of strong electrical knowledge and experience.

MAIN DUTIES

- Survey and measurement of site equipment, typically valves, actuators, pipe work and associated controls on customer sites.
- Where necessary facilitate removal of existing equipment to obtain detail required to design adaption components.
- Produce detailed manufacturing and installation drawings, BOM's and project documentation (RAMS, weekly reports, O&M's, test certs, quotations, etc).
- Produce Electrical and Mechanical interfaces including BCD P&IDs and Schematic wiring diagrams
- Source materials, tools and equipment ensuring that time-scales and budgets are met.
- Liaise with the Project Manager to ensure contracts are resourced appropriately.
- Oversee site installation and commissioning of contracts.
- Visits to sites may occasionally require overnight stays.
- Produce site accurate visit reports, risk assessments and site method statements

- Interpret prospective customer requirements, estimate costs and handle customer enquiries

- Work with the Project Manager to review contracts for technical compliance
- Work under own supervision project-managing all aspects of projects
- Deliver contracts within the time-scales and costs
- Maintain the company's NICEIC approval.
- Ensure products and applications are designed and manufactured to relevant standards
- Ensure compliance with relevant BS standards and legislation
- Ensure adherence to Quality Systems, Health and Safety

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Must have C&G 2391 or 2394 Level 3 Testing and Inspection Qualification,
- Experience of working with 415V and knowledge of UPS would be beneficial
- Able to maintain the company's NICEIC approval.
- Qualification in electrical/electronic engineering, ideally degree level
- Design and Project Management experience.
- Conscientious and self-motivated working to deadlines with the minimum of supervision
- Organised / structured approach with the ability to co-ordinate, balance and achieve all aspects of design activity.
- Proficient Microsoft office user i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel
- Required to attend training courses to attain Safety Passport, Confined Space and First Aid Competence. There will also be a requirement to carry out customer inductions and medicals.

In addition the following would be advantageous:

- Design experience and working knowledge of CAD, in particular Solid Edge
- A working knowledge and understanding of valves, actuators and associated plant and equipment
